About the project
Why HostingRecs exists
Search for the best web host and most of what you find is a ranked list that pays per signup — hosting has some of the biggest affiliate payouts on the web. HostingRecs collects first-hand experiences from Reddit, YouTube and forums instead, and lets customers add their own.
A host that is perfect for a personal blog can be painful for a busy store, and an intro price says little about the renewal bill. Knowing what someone hosts, on which plan and for how long often tells you more than a score on its own.
Customers, not promotions
No sponsored rankings. No paid placements. Ratings come from customer submissions, and quotes from around the web stay separate from those ratings. We skip posts from hosting staff, resellers and affiliates, and anything carrying a referral link. Service pages link to each provider’s official website.
A work in progress
HostingRecs is new. Submissions are moderated before publication, web reviews link to their sources, and service details come from each provider’s own site.
Adding your experience
You don’t need an account. Reviews are held for moderation before appearing publicly. Write about services you actually use or have used and be specific about what worked for you.
Your privacy
An alias is optional. If you leave an email address, it is stored privately with your submission and never included in public reviews. Leave it blank if you prefer.
